About our congregation

We are an egalitarian, unaffiliated synagogue located in Ewing New Jersey. Within walking distance of The College of New Jersey, The Greenwood House for the Jewish Aged, and the JCC of Princeton Mercer Bucks. Our shul started in Trenton NJ in 1909 as an Orthodox synagogue. The congregation relocated to Lower Ferry Road in Ewing in 1964 and shortly thereafter affiliated with the United Synagogue of Conservative Judaism. We use prayer book Sim Shalom for weekday, Shabbat, and Festivals.

The Hertz Chumash is also used during the Torah Service. Women are encouraged to participate in our shul and can receive an aliyah, lead services, and serve on our board. We recognize bat kohen and bat levi, and women can be called up for hagbah or galilah. Our services are conducted in Hebrew and English to make everyone feel at ease. Transliterations are found throughout our prayer books.
